Do Not Think You Would Not Need It

Congratulations on the acquisition of your new home. And the purchase of your new car too. Well done. You have worked hard for it. Time you enjoyed it. But with that enjoyment come the added responsibilities, worries and burdens of protecting your investment. Your motor vehicle and household items. This should not be the case. Having a motor and household insurance will help in the ease of that stress.

Look at your mortgage bond agreement carefully. The insurance that you are paying for, together with your monthly re – payments, do not cover your household contents. The insurance covers and protects only the physical house for loss though fire, natural disasters and the like. And it is expected, as the banks have to make sure that “their” investment is protected.

So what of your household contents? Your furniture, items of value, hi – tech equipment, and the like? These will not be protected by the insurance you are paying for via the bank. You would have to look at and subscribe to an insurance policy to protect the household items. And at the same time, you have also got to subscribe to a motor vehicle insurance policy to protect that asset.

Briefly, your motor vehicle and household items are also your investments. You are attached to them as you have worked hard in acquiring them. Damage or loss could deprive your of your possession. That is the simple reason why you have to subscribe to a motor and household insurance policy.

Should the unthinkable occur, for example your motor vehicle gets stolen, or your home is broken into and items stolen, gets stolen, or your home is broken into and items stolen, your motor and household insurance will pay you out for the replacement value or the market value of the stolen items. You would then be in a position to replace the items without having to look for finance to do so. And being realistic, these occurrences happen when you are not in a financial position to deal with them. That is when your motor and household insurance is invaluable.

The insurances company may opt to repair or replace the lost or damaged items. This entirely depends on the policy subscribed to. However, often the insurance company would make a monetary pay-out to the policy holder for him / her to purchase a new item. The option is often made at the time the policy is taken out, taking into account your specific requirements and needs.

So why a motor and household insurance policy? And not rather separate motor vehicle policy and household policy? The answer lies in the most basic of principles that we all want and look for, savings. Consider the cost of having a separate policy for your motor vehicle and a separate policy for your household items. It makes monetary sense to combine both into a motor and household insurance policy, subscribe now and be safe in the knowledge that you are covered.
